Fifty Shades of Beige. We chose three look-a-like houses in a sweet Santa Clarita neighborhood and then made them look even more alike! We applied for building permits and rebuilt the front of one house and added a porch to another.

Those three houses serve as our hero neighborhood. We built the Hammond House and neighboring facades on 2 stages. Since there are heavy makeup FX and VFX we built nearly all the sets for the series on swing stages or on “location”. Over two seasons we’ve built cafes, school hallways, other houses, multiple apartments, a barn, stores etc. The sets play very much as straight observations of life allowing the absurd stories to play like everyday life.
